Data Cabling Supervisor (Working Supervisor)

Location: Central London
Contract Length: 12 Months
Rate: Competitive DOE

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Cabling Supervisor to join a long-term project in London. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a team whilst remaining actively involved in the installation works.

You'll be responsible for managing a small team of engineers, coordinating daily activities, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring work is delivered safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structured cabling installations and previous experience supervising engineers on site.

Key Duties

  • Lead and support a team of four Data Cabling Engineers.
  • Carry out structured cabling installations alongside the team.
  • Organise daily workloads and site activities.
  • Ensure all works are completed to the required specifications and standards.
  • Monitor installation quality and rectify any issues as required.
  • Liaise with project management, clients and other contractors on site.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
  • Complete site reports, progress updates and relevant documentation.
  • Assist with project planning and coordination.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience supervising structured cabling teams.
  • Strong installation background covering copper and fibre cabling systems.
  • Ability to work from drawings, schematics and cable schedules.
  • Experience working within commercial buildings, industrial environments or data centres.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid ECS or CSCS card.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Essential Qualifications

  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)

Desirable Qualifications

  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • Fibre termination and testing experience
  • Fluke testing certification
  • Experience on large-scale infrastructure or data centre projects
