Data Cabling Engineer – Structured Cabling (Permanent)

Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

 

Join a Growing Team Delivering Commercial Cabling Projects Across the Midlands

We’re looking for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer to join our structured cabling division, working across a variety of commercial projects in West Bromwich and the wider Midlands region.

This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for engineers with a background in Cat6 and fibre optic installation, looking for steady regional work and long-term development within a supportive and growing team.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Installing Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A structured cabling systems
  • Carrying out fibre optic installations (including splicing and testing where required)
  • Installing containment (tray, trunking, basket, conduit)
  • Terminating and testing cables using Fluke or equivalent test equipment
  • Reading site drawings and layout plans
  • Working on a variety of commercial sites including offices, schools, healthcare and retail
  • Ensuring all work meets site safety and quality standards

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in structured cabling and network infrastructure
  • Skilled in copper and fibre termination and testing
  • ECS or CSCS card (preferred)
  • IPAF and PASMA certifications (advantageous but not essential)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Based near West Bromwich or happy to travel across the Midlands
