Data Cabling Engineer – Structured Cabling (Permanent)
Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annumJoin a Growing Team Delivering Commercial Cabling Projects Across the Midlands
We’re looking for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer to join our structured cabling division, working across a variety of commercial projects in West Bromwich and the wider Midlands region.
This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for engineers with a background in Cat6 and fibre optic installation, looking for steady regional work and long-term development within a supportive and growing team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A structured cabling systems
- Carrying out fibre optic installations (including splicing and testing where required)
- Installing containment (tray, trunking, basket, conduit)
- Terminating and testing cables using Fluke or equivalent test equipment
- Reading site drawings and layout plans
- Working on a variety of commercial sites including offices, schools, healthcare and retail
- Ensuring all work meets site safety and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in structured cabling and network infrastructure
- Skilled in copper and fibre termination and testing
- ECS or CSCS card (preferred)
- IPAF and PASMA certifications (advantageous but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence
- Based near West Bromwich or happy to travel across the Midlands
