Data Centre Engineer

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Engineers for an active contract in Newport, supporting structured cabling works and hot aisle containment installations in a live data centre environment. The role involves hands-on physical infrastructure work and close coordination with on-site teams to ensure minimal disruption and full compliance with site standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Install and terminate structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a)
• Support containment builds including hot aisle containment systems
• Cable routing through trays, floors, and overhead containment
• Patch panel work and cabinet dressing
• Rack and stack of network/server equipment
• Ensure adherence to health & safety and data centre protocols
• Work flexibly around live environments and change control processes

Requirements:
• Proven experience in data centre environments
• Strong background in structured cabling and containment installation
• Ability to read technical drawings and method statements
• Comfortable working in hot and cold aisle configurations
• CSCS/ECS or equivalent H&S certification
• IPAF, PASMA or other relevant site cards beneficial
