Description

Bauhaus Recruitment are currently resourcing for 2x Data Centre Engineers based in Yorkshire for a 12-18 month contract.

Locations

The work will take place across two data centres located in Barnsley and Wakefield. The ideal candidate will live within a commutable distance to each location and have their own vehicle.

Job Description

  • Assisting with preparations for a large data migration 
  • Installation of copper cabling infrastructure
  • Installation and testing of pre-terminated fibre
  • Installation and connectivity of network equipment
  • Cable recovery within live environments
  • labelling of end to end cabling
  • Working in critical live environments
  • Assist Moves and Changes team
Scheduled Hours
The bulk of the work will take place at night on weekdays with a requirement to work every other weekend during the day. Time will be given off during the week when working the weekend and plenty of flexibility can be given with this also.
  • Weekday hours: 19:00-03:00 
  • Weekend hours: 08:00-16:00
  • Some flexibility can be give with start/finish times if needed.
Rate
  • £24.00 - £27.00 per hour
  • (negotiable dependant on experience)


Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience working in Data Centre Environments
  • Installation of copper cabling infrastructure
  • Installation of network equipment
  • Racking and Stacking
  • Patching using patch schedule
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Will be organised and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail at all times
  • Excellent communications skills used to build a rapport with people at all levels
  • Will present a positive company image.
  • Will provide a timely, polite and efficient service.
  • A good team worker who can work equally effectively on own initiative
  • Able to work with schedules and diagrams
  • Basic I.T. and networking skills
  • Will possess own basic hand tools and terminating tools
