- Description
Structured Cabling Engineer – Bristol Opportunity
We’re looking for enthusiastic engineers to join our growing team in the Bristol area. This role is open to all backgrounds and levels of experience — from those starting out in structured cabling to experienced specialists. With ongoing training and mentoring, you’ll have a clear pathway to progress from entry-level through to senior engineer and project lead.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day work will depend on your experience level, but you can expect to be involved in:
- Installing and testing Cat6/Cat6a and fibre optic cabling
- Constructing containment systems (basket, tray, trunking, conduit)
- Supporting additional technologies including Wi-Fi, UPS, and AV
- Delivering projects across offices, data centres, warehouses, manufacturing plants, and secure facilities
- Travelling to client sites within the region, with occasional overnight stays further afield
At senior level you’ll also lead surveys, manage teams on-site, liaise with clients, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.
Why This Role is Different
- Established Business: Over three decades providing structured cabling and telecoms services across Defence, Healthcare, and Manufacturing
- Progression Path: Clear opportunities to grow from entry-level engineer through to leadership roles
- Strong Benefits Package: From company vehicles to private GP access and life assurance
- Employee Ownership: Be part of an organisation where every employee has a real stake
- Defence Sector Projects: Get the chance to work on secure, high-profile military sites (SC Clearance a major advantage)
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on experience with copper/fibre installations (or willingness to learn if starting out)
- Valid CSCS/ECS card
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- A strong focus on safety (IPAF, PASMA useful)
- Reliability, adaptability, and pride in your work
Highly valued (but not essential):
- Existing SC Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain it) — enabling access to defence and military projects
- CNCI qualification
- Previous experience working in defence, data centres, or manufacturing environments
The Package
- Competitive salary based on skills and experience
- 40-hour working week (07:30–16:30 core hours, with some flexibility when projects require it)
- 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Pension with employer contributions
- Wellbeing benefits including Employee Assistance Programme, GP24, cycle scheme, eye test support, and flu jabs

If you’re based in or around Bristol and want to build your career with a company that values quality, safety, and long-term growth, this is your chance. Whether you’re just starting out or already highly experienced, apply today and take the next step towards becoming a senior engineer or project lead.
